The first ever Performance Championships for the South Devons, held within the Livestock Event at the NEC, was an exciting success.

14 exhibitors from across the country joined together to show 26 heifers and young bulls in a Breedplan performance recorded competition, bringing quality of inspection and high performance figures.

Breed and male champion was Oliver Brewin’s June 2013 born bull, North View Claudius, by Welland Valley Crusader and out of Welland Valley Claudia 6, winning the Harlington Trophy.

Reserve breed and female champion was Roger Rundle’s AI Kestle Dahlia 73, a February 2014 born heifer by AI Grove Bellerophon 3, and out of Kestle Dahlia 60.

Best male on a combination of inspection and performance points was Douglas Scott’s Grove Charlemagne 72, by AI Woodhayes Homer 5 and out of Grove Cherry 69. Mr Scott also took the best female award for inspection and performance with Grove Buttercup 148, also by AI Woodhayes Homer 5, and out of Grove Buttercup 135.
