SOUTH DEVONS TOP 6800 GNS AT CIRENCESTER IN THEIR 125^TH ANNIVERSARY YEAR

The South Devon Herd Book’s Autumn Show & Sale was held for the second time at Cirencester, bringing in vendors and purchasers from England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland to this easily accessible venue.  The Sale followed the Society’s celebrations of its 125^th Anniversary at a Dinner the previous evening which welcomed over 100 members and guests.

SOUTH DEVONS’ MIDLAND CLUB SALE AT STRATFORD TOPS AT 3,700 GNS

The annual South Devon sale held by Midland Club breeders saw numbers down this year but those cattle that were presented gave good choice and opportunities to the buyers who travelled from Wales, the South West, Leicestershire, East Anglia and the Midlands.

South Devon Cattle Breeders Club Sale 2016

Exeter Livestock Centre, 27^th May 2016

It was a boost to see a good demand for South Devon breeding cattle at Exeter Livestock Centre, when the Cattle Breeders’ Club annual sale saw a total clearance of their catalogue of 62 pedigree and grading up South Devons.

Consignments included offerings from the Billington, Colcharton, Cornworthy Court, Crowndale, Delhorn, Godworthy, Horridge, Rugwell, Sexton, and Trayhill herds; for which there were a number of new buyers joining in the bidding.

SOUTH DEVONS’ SPRING SALE AT EXETER

An excellent range of 34 quality pedigree South Devon bulls were presented for sale at Exeter, having travelled from as far away as Yorkshire, Staffordshire and Leicestershire, as well as more locally from the South West. The high standard was assured by strict inspections, frame scoring, and high health requirements.
